Had Milk? Britons Did During New Stone Age

Dairy farming became widespread in Britain as early as the new Stone Age -- around 4000 BC -- reported scientists at England’s University of Bristol.
Archeological chemist Mark Copley said evidence of milk fats was found on broken pieces of pottery at several ancient sites in southern England. The findings, reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, are evidence of the earliest farming communities in Britain.
