3 agencies tackle homeless care plan
The departments of Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, and Veterans Affairs have collaborated to launch a $35-million program to provide permanent housing, health care and support to the chronic or long-term homeless.
The funding will include $20 million from HUD, $10 million from Health and Human Services and $5 million from VA and aims to improve the delivery of federal resources that address the housing and service needs of the homeless.
The joint effort was coordinated by the federal Interagency Council on Homelessness.
