The medium is the massage

Remember Laserium, where baby boomers would sit in the dark and watch laser light shows choreographed to classic-rock music? Now aging boomers might prefer something else to accompany their dips into the old albums -- like maybe a deep-tissue rub.

That’s the thinking behind Classic Rock Massage, a new service to be offered starting later this month by the ZenSpa in Calabasas. It’s no coincidence that the facility is owned by Donna D’Errico, the former “Baywatch” actress who is married to Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx.

“As a nod to my husband, I wanted to have a treatment that reflected music,” D’Errico says. “It’s a musical treatment where therapists are choreographing therapeutic massage with some of the greatest albums of our time.”

Of course, Motley Crue music might be too energetic. D’Errico envisions a soothing experience done to the Moody Blues’ “Days of Future Passed” and Pink Floyd’s “The Dark Side of the Moon.”
