Re “Davis Won’t Sign Bill Linking Cuts to Auto Fee Hike,” Feb. 5:

While all the talk in Sacramento is about raising vehicle license fees, they are overlooking a steady year-round cash flow: driver’s license fees. Last time I renewed I paid $15 for three years. Five dollars a year seems very low, and I am sure people would be willing to pay more, maybe even double.

Maybe this is the political third rail in the state capitol, but I’m sure that increasing driver’s license fees would go over much better than the hike in vehicle license fees.
