Slaying Suspect Commits Suicide, Authorities Say
From Staff and Wire Reports
A 25-year-old murder mystery ended suddenly in Arkansas when the suspect committed suicide, officials said.
Donald Paul Jennings, 46, of Hot Springs, Ark., shot himself in the chest Tuesday as detectives with a warrant for the slaying of a 15-year-old Sacramento girl forced their way into his home.
Authorities said his death shuts the door on the mystery surrounding the slaying of Penny Parker, who vanished in 1977. DNA evidence was the key to solving the case, authorities said.
