Class Is No Sweat

Re “Florida’s Phantom Phys Ed,” editorial, Feb. 10: I find it completely ridiculous that Florida is even considering cyber-study for gym class. While in high school, participating in PE class every day changed the way I felt. I became livelier, more confident and fit. To take that away and pretty much make it optional is such a setback. I am almost positive that 50%, if not more, of the students are going to lie and not take part in their PE “assignments.” When there is no way to prove that the assignment was done, why wouldn’t they lie? All this will lead to is an overweight population of youth and a higher percentage of kids glued to the computer screen.
