Syria’s Brutal Tactics
“Syria Works to Polish Its Image” (Feb. 20) states that the revolt by the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria was “defeated in 1982 with iron-fisted tactics.” This is a masterpiece of understatement.
The Syrian government, headed by Hafez Assad (father of Bashar), essentially leveled the city of Hama, killing 10,000 people or more.
