1 Killed as Snowstorm Causes 150 Avalanches

A weekend storm that brought up to 3 feet of snow to the Rockies caused at least 150 avalanches, claiming one life in central Colorado.
The Chaffee County sheriff’s office said three Denver residents were caught in a slide while skiing on Mt. Belford west of Buena Vista. Two were able to dig themselves out. By the time they got their friend out, he was not breathing.
