A federal judge refused to dismiss antitrust charges filed against Microsoft Corp. in separate cases by Sun Microsystems Inc. and two small software companies.

Ruling on suits by Be Inc. and Burst.com, U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz said he would allow the cases to proceed.

Last month, Motz said he would issue a preliminary injunction ordering Microsoft to distribute Sun’s Java programming language in Windows.

Be has alleged that Microsoft pressured PC makers not to ship PCs with two operating systems.

Burst said Microsoft pressured Intel Corp. and RealNetworks Inc. not to support Burst technologies.
