Paris Marchers Protest Security Proposals
At least 2,000 demonstrators marched in Paris to protest the French government’s plans to crack down on crime.

It would also make prostitution punishable by prison and widen the police’s ability to conduct computer searches and undercover operations.
Alain Lipietz, a European Parliament member, said the proposals would make the police “all powerful” and amount to “a hunt against the poor.”
