Report on Abuse of Nuns Draws Large Response

Authors of a study that estimated about 40% of U.S. Roman Catholic nuns had experienced some form of sexual trauma say they have been overwhelmed with calls from victims and requests for information since the findings were reported in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Study co-author John T. Chibnall said the St. Louis University survey shows nuns experienced less childhood sexual abuse and the same adult sexual abuse as the public.
