4 Ethnic Albanians Convicted of Atrocities
A court in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, convicted four ethnic Albanian rebels and sentenced them to prison for atrocities committed during their 1998-99 war with Yugoslav forces in the province.
Judges sentenced Rrustem Mustafa and three of his associates to terms ranging from five to 17 years for ordering the arrest, torture and killing of ethnic Albanians suspected of collaborating with the Serb regime of former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic. U.N.-controlled Kosovo is part of Serbia-Montenegro, the successor to Yugoslavia.
