Death Toll in 2-Week Heat Wave Climbs to 795

Sunstroke and dehydration claimed 160 more lives in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh state, raising the death toll from a two-week heat wave to 795, a relief official said.
Temperatures rose to 118 degrees and meteorologists predicted no relief for two more days, said D.C. Roshaiah, the state’s chief relief official. Hundreds were being treated for dehydration and sunstroke at hospitals in 20 of the 23 districts in the state, he said.
