From Times Staff Reports

Staff Sgt. William Clayton Bragg, the Marine Corps recruiter accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in a Riverside recruiting station, could face a life sentence if convicted, the military prosecutor assigned to the case said.

Maj. Paul M. Schimpf said Bragg, a married 13-year veteran Marine, could be vulnerable to a harsher sentence because of the nature of the alleged crime and the fact he was a recruiter.
