Update -- Sacramento knows it blew a great opportunity to knock off Los Angeles in Staples Center on Thursday, losing, 63-61. That extended the Sparks’ regular-season winning streak over the Monarchs to nine. Los Angeles doesn’t plan on another subpar effort -- the 26 turnovers charged to the Sparks were one short of the team record. But Sacramento doesn’t expect another bad game by star forward Yolanda Griffith, who made only two of eight shots and scored all of her six points in the second half. This will be Sacramento’s second home game. The Monarchs blasted Phoenix in their home opener on May 30, 69-49.
