Burning Man Festival Organizers Sue County
From Times Wire Reports
Organizers of the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada are suing county commissioners for rejecting plans for a permanent staging area near Black Rock Desert.
San Francisco-based Black Rock City LLC wants a judge to allow staging operations on 200 acres it owns and 80 acres it leases in Washoe County.
The site is about 10 miles from the desert playa 100 miles north of Reno where the event is held on federal land in Pershing County during the week leading up to Labor Day weekend.
