Ex-Student Is Convicted in Assault at College
From Times Wire Reports
In the first trial under Georgia’s hate crimes law, a former college student was convicted in Atlanta in the baseball-bat beating of a dorm mate he thought was making a sexual advance in a shower room.
Aaron Price, 19, was found guilty of assault and battery for attacking Gregory Love at Morehouse College in November. The jury continued to weigh a hate crimes charge.
Price said he interpreted Love’s stares as a sexual advance. Love said he wasn’t wearing glasses and mistook Price for his roommate.
