Battin’s Integrity

Re “Tribal Lobbyist Revealed PR Pitch, Senator Alleges,” June 20: State Sen. Jim Battin (R-La Quinta) is quoted as saying, “I just don’t want my constituents to have reason to question my integrity.... “ Too late, senator; at least one citizen of our state has, and you failed.

Adding insult to the issue, the integrity-lacking senator then attempts to blame someone else for leaking his memo asking the tribes to hire him. Try as he might, the problem is his. Our problem is that the latest round of redistricting has probably assured the reelection of this unethical politician for another four years.
