An audience of 4,000 children screamed with delight when J.K. Rowling took the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall to field questions about her Harry Potter books. Many more joined in on a Web cast.

Rowling drew gasps from the audience when she refused to reveal if Harry would survive the end of the series, which she has said will include two more books.

“You have to wait and see whether he survives to be a grown-up,” she said Thursday. “I’m not saying he won’t, but I don’t want to give anything away.”
