Blue Diamond Sells MacFarms of Hawaii

Share

Blue Diamond Growers, which represents two-thirds of California’s almond growers, has sold MacFarms of Hawaii to an undisclosed U.S. food group. Included in the sale were 3,900 acres of macadamia trees and a South Kona processing plant.

Terms were not disclosed. Blue Diamond will continue to market nuts for MacFarms and lease the company offices and warehouse space in Sacramento.

Blue Diamond President Doug Youngdahl said the sale would allow the cooperative to “focus on its core almond activities.”
