Islamabad considers it reality TV

MeetUp, the Internet service that arranges meetings between individuals with special interests and hobbies and like-minded people in their area, has gone global, with more than 31 countries represented. But MeetUp’s Web site operators didn’t expect such a great response from Internet users in Pakistan.

It seems that users, seeing that there were “Sex and the City” groups for fans of the HBO series, signed up to form “Sex and the City: Islamabad.” But MeetUp’s Myles Weissleder is fairly certain that a key fact about “Sex and the City” was lost in translation.

Based on the postings he has seen, he says, “We don’t think they understand that ‘City’ is a television show” -- as these messages from Islamabad’s “fan club” suggest:

Writes guest2001ca: “hi I am from Islamabad and I am male, who is looking for good and sexy females for sex in islamabad.”

Offers zakeish_sher: “Not your average boy toy in town looking for regular thingie. Something kinkyly amazing is what I seek.”

And from saleem_pakistan: “hay Just females any female u want tasty sex mail me.”

Sarah Jessica Parker? Kim Cattrall? Not in this “City.”
