Marines’ Pets Deserve U.S. Support Too

Share

I am an animal lover, taxpayer and shelter volunteer. I support our armed forces who serve and protect this country.

I find it incomprehensible that our government can waste money on so many things that neither benefit nor improve the citizens of this country and not spend one dime for the health or spaying of animals that once belonged to Marines. Not only does our government do nothing to improve the well-being of these animals, but now it is closing Camp Pendleton’s shelter.

When the Marines are deployed to protect our country they have to leave behind their pets. Wouldn’t it be better to provide shelter for these animals until their owners return by keeping the base shelter open and properly maintained?
