Polls Show Approval of Bush Is Up in U.S.
From Times Wire Reports
Public approval of President Bush has surged after the start of the war with Iraq, polls suggest. An ABC-Washington Post poll found the president’s job approval rating at 67%, up from prewar polls that showed it at 60% or lower.
A CBS-New York Times poll found that 62% say they think the United States did the right thing on Iraq. In a CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll, 70% said they agreed the U.S. acted at the right time.
In 1991, about 80% approved of the first President Bush’s handling of the situation in Iraq.
