Ex-Narcotics Detective Sentenced to 20 Years

A former Louisville police narcotics detective who pleaded guilty to hundreds of corruption charges was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Mark Watson, 39, originally faced 70 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole after serving four years.

Watson pleaded guilty in January to 299 felonies, including 21 counts of burglary, 133 counts of tampering with public records, and counts of theft, perjury and bribing a witness.

Watson testified against his co-defendant, Christie Richardson, who was found guilty last month on 20 felony counts.
