Budget Cuts Stop Volunteer Rescue Team

The Sacramento region’s Drowning Accident Rescue Team has been cut as part of a package of $3.5 billion in midyear budget cuts signed into law last week.
The nonprofit water-rescue team, known as DART, stopped operating its all-volunteer program after the state cut funding for workers’ compensation.
