Joel Bues Death

“Hermosa Beach on Edge After Slaying” (March 24) quotes Hermosa Beach Mayor Sam Edgerton about the Pacific Coast Highway murder of 25-year-old Joel Bues: “It irritates me that this happened, because this is an attack on our city.”
We knew Joel. With brushes and buckets of ammonia we washed the blood from the carpet of his car after he died. Joel worked for his mother and father, educated people from Argentina who own a small business and a home in Hermosa Beach. For the mayor to call this murder an “irritant” is grossly offensive and disrespectful to the family and friends of this young man. We are not “irritated.”
