Lexmark to Give Schools Printers and Art Programs
Kentucky-based Lexmark International and state Sen. Joe Dunn today will announce plans to donate a new printer and a computer art program to each public school in 11 north and central Orange County school districts.
When school budgets are lean, as now, partnerships such as the Print Art Educational Program are essential to maintain arts instruction, said Dunn, a Garden Grove Democrat.
“By showcasing arts education in schools, we reaffirm our commitment to our children that they will get the best education we have to offer,” he said.
By fall, the more than 220 elementary, middle and high schools throughout Dunn’s district will receive the software and a color inkjet printer valued at $90.
The Print Gallery CD-ROM, which Lexmark already has donated to more than 60 school districts nationwide, features 100 works of 19th century art from Europe’s leading museums.
