Trial by Media
Re “The Shame of the Airwaves,” Opinion, May 4: Having just read the excellent column by Mary Fischer, I think that it is high time that the U.S. adopts the sub judice laws of Britain and some other countries, whereby the media may not comment on cases before judicial decisions have been reached.

Fischer is right on target. The lack of professionalism with radio talk shows and all television newscasts is appalling. The best way to counter these programs is to not “buy” into them. Music is perfect during the drive time and a newspaper is far superior to any pretense of news found on cable and television stations.
