From Times Wire Reports

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ordered an investigation into allegations by a former American hostage that members of the Philippine military colluded with her Abu Sayyaf captors. Gracia Burnham, rescued June 7, made the claim in a book, “In the Presence of My Enemies.”

Burnham’s husband, Martin, was killed during the rescue by Philippine troops, and she was shot in the leg. Her book alleges that the Philippine army sold guns and ammunition to Abu Sayyaf. She also wrote that a Philippine general provided food in a failed effort to get a cut of ransom money.
