Probe Blames Guards for Riot Deaths

Dozens of prison riot deaths originally blamed on inmates were committed by guards, according to a report.
A clash between common prisoners and gang members broke out April 5 at the El Porvenir prison farm in La Ceiba, 120 miles north of the capital. Seventy-three people died, including four guards.
The governmental National Interior Security Council said in its report that 47 had been shot dead, the majority by guards.
