Stephen Hellberg, a former telecommunications executive, and his wife, Carissa, surf, play volleyball and windsurf. They love the Hawaiian Islands. They like high tech. They enjoy building.

With their interests in mind, the couple built this Pacific Palisades home not quite five years ago, but now they are moving to North Carolina to build again.

The Palisades home is a showplace for its architecture -- the sculptural contemporary was designed by John Wallis -- and for such features as a regulation sand volleyball court and a gym set up for kickboxing and weights.
