U.S. Closes Embassy Amid Terror Threat

The United States has decided to close its embassy in Oslo through the weekend after a purported Al Qaeda threat against Norway that some thought was likely meant for neighboring Denmark.
An audiotape purportedly by Ayman Zawahiri, the top lieutenant of Osama bin Laden, urged attacks on the United States, Britain, Australia and Norway. But Norway didn’t support the U.S.-led war against Iraq -- Denmark did. There was speculation that Al Qaeda may have confused the two.
