Crime Reporter Is Target of Fake Bomb

A high-profile Irish crime reporter was under police protection after army experts destroyed a fake bomb outside his home in south Dublin.
Paul Williams, crime editor of the Sunday World tabloid, said he knew which gang was threatening him and would not be intimidated.
Ireland’s national police said the device included a battery, wiring and circuit board but had putty in place of real explosive.
