Man Arrested in Kidnapping of Girl, 13

From Times Staff Reports

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a 13-year-old Thousand Oaks girl and exposing himself to two other youths in separate incidents this past week, authorities said Saturday.

Paul Whitehead of Thousand Oaks was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Wilbur Road.

Whitehead was jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail for allegedly kidnapping the girl Tuesday as she walked on Erbes Road in Thousand Oaks.

A man drove up, told the girl she was in danger, and she got in the truck.

About two miles later, the girl jumped out of the vehicle and ran for help.

On Wednesday, deputies responded to Aspen Middle School in Thousand Oaks after two students said a man in a pickup had exposed himself that day near the school.
