Troops Capture Kidnapping Suspect

Colombia’s army captured a suspected leftist rebel, Edison Ramos Alcazar, who it says coordinated the kidnapping of several foreign backpackers two months ago. A raid in the coastal city of Santa Marta netted the alleged member of the National Liberation Army.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy temporarily barred its employees, their families and embassy contractors from Bogota’s two trendiest shopping and dining districts after grenade attacks in the capital last weekend killed one woman and injured 72.
