The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan:

Phillip R. Albert, 41, of Terryville, Conn.; sergeant major, Army. Albert was aboard an MH-53 helicopter conducting combat operations when it crashed Nov. 23 in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, based at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Damian S. Bushart, 22, of Waterford, Mich.; private first class, Army. Bushart was killed Nov. 22 when a tank collided with his vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to A Troop, 1st Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Armstrong Barracks, Germany.

Gary B. Coleman, 24, of Pikeville, Ky.; corporal, Army. Coleman was on patrol Nov. 21 when the vehicle he was driving flipped over into a canal in Balad, Iraq, trapping him inside. He was assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 68th Armored Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division (Mech.), based at Ft. Carson, Colo.

David J. Goldberg, 20, of Layton, Utah; specialist, Army Reserve. Goldberg died Wednesday of an unspecified, noncombat-related injury in Qayyarah, Iraq. He was assigned to C Company, 52nd Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), Army Reserve, 43rd Area Support Group, based at Ft. Carson, Colo.

William J. Kerwood, 37, of Houston, Mo.; technical sergeant, Air Force. Kerwood was killed Nov. 23 in an MH-53M helicopter accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 20th Special Operations Squadron, based at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Josph L. Lister, 22, of Pleasanton, Kan.; specialist, Army. Lister was in a convoy when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device Nov. 20 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 34th Armored Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, based at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Christopher G. Nason, 39, of California; chief warrant officer, Army. Nason died of injuries suffered Nov. 23 in a vehicle accident between Mosul and Dihok, Iraq. He was assigned to A Company, 306th Military Intelligence Battalion, based at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.

Steven Plumhoff, 33, of Neshanic Station, N.J.; major, Air Force. Plumhoff was killed Nov. 23 in an MH-53M helicopter accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 58th Operations Squadron, based at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M.

Eddie E. Menyweather, 35, of Los Angeles; staff sergeant, Army. Menyweather was killed Nov. 23 when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle in Baqubah, Iraq. He was assigned to Company C, 588th Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Division (Mech), based at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Darrell L. Smith, 28, of Otwell, Ind.; corporal, Army National Guard. Smith drowned Nov. 23 when his vehicle overturned and fell into a river in Baghdad. He was assigned to D Company, 1st Battalion, 152nd Infantry Regiment, Army National Guard, based in Washington, Ind.

Thomas A. Walkup Jr., 25, of Millville, N.J.; staff sergeant, Air Force. Walkup was killed Nov. 23 in an MH-53M helicopter accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 20th Special Operations Squadron, based at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Howard A. Walters, 33, of Port Huron, Mich.; technical sergeant, Air Force. Walters was killed Nov. 23 in an MH-53M helicopter accident in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 20th Special Operations Squadron, based at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

Jerry L. Wilson, 45, of Thomson, Ga.; command sergeant major, Army. Wilson was killed Nov. 23 when the vehicle he was in was attacked by hostile forces in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

George A. Wood, 33, of New York, N.Y.; captain, Army. Wood was on patrol Nov. 20 when his tank rolled over an improvised explosive device in Baqubah, Iraq. He was assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division (Mech), based at Ft. Hood, Texas. *
