From Times Wire Reports

Two U.S. senators said the Army was housing some 650 sick and injured National Guard and Reserves personnel in unacceptable conditions at Ft. Stewart while they were being evaluated for return to active duty.

Republican Christopher S. Bond of Missouri and Democrat Patrick J. Leahy of Vermont, co-chairs of the Senate’s National Guard Caucus, said in a report that the soldiers were not getting proper medical care or evaluation. The report said the barracks, designed for healthy soldiers on training, were not suitable for ill or injured soldiers.
