RECALL Q

Share

Can I still vote for a candidate on the second half of the recall ballot who has announced that he or she is dropping out?

*

Yes. The law states that candidates have until 60 days before election day to withdraw. But because of the compressed recall election timeline, the final list of 135 candidates was certified after that deadline had passed. So all the names will appear on the Oct. 7 recall ballot, including those of any candidates who say they have withdrawn from the race. And election officials will count every vote, even for candidates who have dropped out.
