Wholesale Inventories Much the Same in July

Inventories at U.S. wholesalers were little changed for a second month in July as companies sold from stockpiles to meet rising demand that’s underpinning the economy.
The value of goods in stock totaled $289 billion for the month compared with June’s $288.9 billion, the Commerce Department said. Furniture, machinery and imported automobile inventories declined in July. Sales rose 0.4% after surging 1.6%.
