General Dynamics Is ‘Pausing’ on Purchases
From Bloomberg News
General Dynamics Corp., maker of the U.S. Army’s main battle tank, is “pausing” on making more acquisitions because it sees few chances to expand its ship and armor businesses, Chief Executive Nicholas Chabraja said.
Regulators probably would not let General Dynamics buy more armored vehicle makers because it is already the largest U.S. producer, Chabraja said at an investor conference in Scottsdale, Ariz., sponsored by Morgan Stanley.
General Dynamics has made more than $2.7 billion in acquisitions this year to boost its fastest-growing businesses: combat systems and information systems and technology.
