Spanish Premier Meets With Kadafi
From Times Wire Reports
Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi was host for a landmark visit by Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, the first by a Western leader since the United Nations last week lifted sanctions imposed after the 1988 bombing of an airliner over Scotland.
Aznar said he urged Kadafi to give security pledges so Libya could rejoin the international fold. Kadafi declined to address the lifting of the sanctions, but he appeared to revel in the publicity provided by the dozens of journalists accompanying Aznar.
