About 14,000 Mongoose mountain bicycles and about 15,000 air hockey tables are being recalled because of safety concerns, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said Friday.

Pacific Cycle Inc., the biggest U.S. seller of bikes, received two reports that the frames of the Mongoose aluminum 20-inch-wheel D-XR AL mountain bicycles broke, injuring the riders. They were sold for about $99 between September and March.

Owners can receive a free replacement rear shock and instructions by calling the company at (877) 564-2261. Pacific Cycle, which also makes Schwinn bikes, was acquired this year by Canada’s Dorel Industries.

The commission also said Friday that three models of air hockey tables made by Valley Dynamo were being recalled because the blower motor under the table had an opening big enough that a child’s finger could fit inside.

One child had crawled under a table and received a minor injury after sticking his finger in the opening, according to the safety agency.

The recall covers the Arctic Flash, Arctic Wind and Air Elegance tables.

The tables were sold for $1,000 to $2,200 at sporting good and other stores since 1994. Consumers can contact Dynamo, which is owned by Brunswick Corp., at (800) 304-2929 to receive a repair kit.
