$80-Million Settlement Made in Crematory Case

An $80-million settlement was reached in a lawsuit against the operators of a crematory where the remains of 334 people were found strewn across the grounds.
The settlement was reached after the start of the trial in Rome stemming from the lawsuit filed by nearly 1,700 people who said their relatives’ remains were mishandled. U.S. District Judge Harold Murphy commended both sides for the amicable agreement.
