Ex-Rebel Commander Named Kosovo Premier

Kosovo lawmakers voted 72 to 3 to name former rebel leader Ramush Haradinaj prime minister, ignoring concerns that a United Nations war crimes tribunal might indict him.
Haradinaj, 36, ex-commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army in the western part of the Serbian province, pledged to prepare the U.N.-administered zone for what he called the “great challenge” of its future.
Many Serbs in Kosovo consider Haradinaj the most notorious of Kosovo’s former rebel commanders and have insisted he be brought to justice.
