Villagers End Protest at Oil Platforms

Hundreds of protesters ended their three-day siege of oil platforms in Nigeria, paddling away in canoes and boats after Royal Dutch Shell and ChevronTexaco agreed to talks.
Villagers protested what they said was a lack of local benefits from more than four decades of drilling around their impoverished community, Kula.
