USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow interviewed for the head coaching position at Stanford on Wednesday.

Chow, 58, toured the campus and met with Stanford officials and some Cardinal players during the day.

Chow could not be reached for comment, but he is considered a leading candidate to replace Buddy Teevens, who was fired last week after three consecutive losing seasons.

Pittsburgh Coach Walt Harris is the other leading candidate and will probably interview on campus this week.

USC defensive coordinator Ed Orgeron is expected to interview Friday with Mississippi officials for that school’s head coaching job.

Senior defensive lineman Shaun Cody attended the Lombardi Award dinner in Houston where Georgia’s David Pollack was announced as the winner.

Pollack was selected over Cody, Erasmus James of Wisconsin and Derrick Johnson of Texas.

Cody was one of four Trojans selected to Sports Illustrated’s All-American team. Senior defensive lineman Mike Patterson, junior linebacker Lofa Tatupu and sophomore Reggie Bush -- who was chosen as the all-purpose player -- also were selected.

Quarterback Matt Leinart, Cody and Bush also were chosen to ESPN’s All-American team.

Leinart, Bush and linebacker Matt Grootegoed will participate in tonight’s Home Depot College Football awards show in Orlando, Fla.

Grootegoed will remain in Orlando for Friday’s Butkus Award announcement.
