From Times Wire Reports

A construction contractor and his neighbors honored U.S. troops stationed overseas this week by erecting a 48-foot iron soldier covered with 4,000 feet of twinkling lights.

Larry Hamilton, 52, had to use a crane to bring his creation to its feet outside his home. The lights include green for the soldier’s uniform, white for its hands and face and blue for its rifle.

Hamilton said it took about a month to build.

His past Christmas creations include a 52-foot iron image of Jesus and a 40-foot model of the Statue of Liberty.
