Heavy rains caused flash floods that killed at least 34 people and injured 43 others in southern Iran, the Iranian Red Crescent Society said.

The flooding hit southern Bushehr province, wrecking more than 380 homes and leaving 4,000 people without shelter, the Red Crescent said in a statement.

The organization, which is the Muslim equivalent of the Red Cross, set up tents for those left homeless by the flooding and sent more than 480 aid workers to the province to provide assistance.
