An Irish Elvis? That’s the choice the producers of a CBS TV movie about the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll have made, casting Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in the title role of “Elvis.”

Rhys-Meyers, 27, who has appeared in such films as “Bend It Like Beckham,” “Vanity Fair” and “Alexander,” begins work on the project next month.

Camryn Manheim, an Emmy winner for “The Practice,” will play Elvis’ mother, while Randy Quaid will portray his manager, Col. Tom Parker.
