Better Off Without U.S.

Re “Blast Likely a Suicide Bombing,” Dec. 23: If the United States had left Iraq a year ago, would we be better off?

With much less blood and treasure spilled, undeniably yes. Would Iraq be better off? Despite the scenarios dreamed up by those who got us into this war, it’s hard to imagine, given the many tens of thousands of civilian casualties, Iraq being worse off.
